Step-by-Step Process to apply via RTI
Visit Portal
Visit the RTI Online Portal.
Submit Request
Click on "Submit Request" from the menu bar.
Read the Guidelines
The Guidelines for use of RTI Online Portal will appear. Read them carefully.
Accept and Continue
Tick the acceptance checkbox and click "Submit".
Fill Basic Details
Enter Email ID, Mobile Number (optional), and the Security Code. Click Submit.
Email Verification
Enter the OTP received in your email.
Complete RTI Request Form
- Ministry/Dept/Apex Body: Ministry of Corporate Affairs
- Select Public Authority: ICAI
- Fill personal details and request details
- If you falls under BPL category, enter BPL Card details like Card Number, Year of Issue and issuing authority. Also you are not required to pay RTI fees
- If you not falls under BPL category, choose "No" from dragdown menu and you have to pay the RTI fees
- Copy-paste the RTI text provided in Word Document below after making necesary changes in "Text for RTI Request Application" field
- Upload supporting documents as your Admit Card (mandatory), BPL Card (if applicable)
- Enter security code and click "Submit"
Get Registration Number
Make payment of RTI Fees. After making the payment, you will receive details of your RTI request. Note down the Registration Number as it required for checking the status of your request
Wait for Response
ICAI generally sends the answer sheet link by email within 30 days.
Track Your Request
Go to the "View Status" tab in the RTI portal and enter your details.

- Apply during non-business hours (early morning or late night). Applying during business hours may lead to delays or failed payments.
- Don’t skip reading the Guidelines carefully.
- No need to scan the printed Admit Card. Upload the PDF Admit Card downloaded from the SSP portal (within 1 MB).
